Alternate angles are the name given to angles that occur on opposite sides of a transversal line.
Alternate Angle comes in pairs, and each angle making up the pair is congruent.
Alternate Angles are named based on where they are located:
If located between the parallel lines ( 3, 4, 5, and 6), they are called Alternate Interior Angles.
The Alternate Interior pairs are: 3 and 5, 4 and 6
If located outside (above and below; 1, 2, 7, and 8) the parallel lines, they are called Alternate Exterior Angles
The Alternate Exterior pairs are: 1 and 7, 2 and 8
